There is this question that keeps on bugging me since i graduated college- What will i be?

For a BSN graduate like me, it should not be a question anymore! what else should i be… to become a health care provider of course! To be a nurse! And supposedly, i should be looking for  hospitals to work in, for training programs, or for any nursing related activities! Well, I’ve already done some of these for x-times (don’t think I’ve done it for many times because i tell you, super not!) it is indeed not enough! i should be trying some more but it’s not what i am doing! I admit, I’m out of focus! But it does not mean that i don’t have a dream (because i have lots), or I am just too lousy to act. It’s just that, every now and then, I see myself in another profession… in business!

I’m split into half!

I know that to be a nurse and an entrepreneur at the same time is possible. it can happen to me. The problem is, I’ve got a disorganized thought (correction, its not the same as what schizo patients have okay?) I mean,  my plans are chaotic, unsystematic, messed up, rumbled, disorganized,  (or any words that are synonymous to the aforementioned) The point is, i haven’t accomplished anything yet (not to include my achievements until i passed the board exam)! There are times that i act in pursuance of my nursing career then halts as i shift in planning of a good business. How screwed it is! And most of the time, it’s the case why i had episodes of headaches…and of empty pockets for worse. I’m diseased!

It took me minutes of contemplation until i realized what was wrong. It’s not my two-at-a-time want, nor my plans on how to be a competent nurse and a successful entrepreneur… there is something missing… there is Someone missing in me as i go over this ‘building my career’… its Jesus.

I am in a mess because I wasn’t paying attention to my Greatest Teacher, I was working and deciding alone…

How come i forgot the very fact that without Him, I will be nothing!

And now i know what’s the cure to my disease… it’s Him, Jesus Christ!

As long as i pay attention, as long as i fix my eyes on Him, i will be on the right track… i can be both, a nurse and an entrepreneur someday. With Him, my entangled plans will be disentangled. And as long as I do my works for the Glory of His name, I will succeed…

If you go around thinking things like, “I’m just average,” “I’ve already reached my limits,” or, “I’ve missed so many good opportunities,” those thoughts are going to drag you down. Instead, every morning when you wake up, start your day with thoughts of hope and success. Determine to be victory-minded. The Bible tells us that what we think about we will become. When you think thoughts of success, victory, joy and peace, your life will be filled with success, victory, joy, and peace.

No matter what’s going on in the world around you, remember, as a believer in Jesus, greater is He who is in you than he that is in the world.

The Greater One lives inside of you! If God is for you, who can be against you? You are an overcomer through Christ. So set your mind on victory and move forward into the abundant life He has for you!

A Prayer for Today

Father in heaven, thank You for the gift of another day! I choose to be victory-minded and think on good things today. Remind me, Holy Spirit, to stay focused on the blessings and favor that You have in store for me.

How magnificent it is to feel Him around me!

My prayer last night has been answered right away! I prayed to the Lord to consume all of me, to be with me in this battle that i stumbled upon for i believe that with Him, victory awaits at the end… i believe that with Him, any heavy burden will be light. Right after my prayer, as i lay down on my bed, i received a text message saying…

God will be…

(ABOVE) you to bless you…

(BELOW) you to support you…

(BEFORE) you to guide you…

(BEHIND) you to protect you….

(BESIDE) you to comfort you, and…

(INSIDE) you to sustain you.

I was really surprised with the message! It put a very wide smile on my face that it nearly reached my ears. I took that message as an assurance from the Lord. (well, with or without that quote, i still believe that He is with me, that He will never abandon me). I slept last night smiling and teary eyed.

But today has a lot more! One of my daily habits is to watch preacher and blue jeans (try to visit www.preacherinbluejeans.com), and it was a surprise again that the message for today’s episode is exactly what i need! It tackles how the Lord has given us a promise that we can hold on to… That in the midst of difficulties, we should not be troubled, for there is always a wonderful blessing that awaits us.

Moreover, early this morning, when i read the Daily Bible Reflections sent to me by the Kerygma Family via e-mail, my heart leaped to joy once more. Today’s Gospel says:

Jesus said to the crowds: “Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for your selves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.”

Matthew 11: 28-30

(Honestly, this is one of my favorite scriptures in the Bible. And i think it is where the chorus of the song “Lift up your hands” was extracted.)

How great is our God! How sweet it is to be loved by Him!

God is not only a God of mercy and love, He actually reaches into our lives to relieve us of the burdens and of sins so that we will be freer to live for Him.

I NEED NOT TO WORRY! In His hands, i am safe. With Him, everything’s gonna be alright.

The Dead Sea… You might be wondering why the sea is called dead… well, literally, it is dead… Why?

Dead Sea is a salt lake located on the Jordan Rift Valley, and is known to be the deepest hypersaline lake, one of the world’s saltiest bodies of water. With 33.7% salinity, it is 8.6 times saltier than the ocean^. This salinity makes for a harsh environment where no sea creature and aquatic plant can flourish… Moreover, Dead Sea’s shores are known to be the lowest point on the surface of the earth on dry land. Therefore, all the bodies of water around the area pour their water on the lake and the lake pour its water to nowhere… it just evaporates. So, the lake is empty, it gives nothing, it is lifeless… it is DEAD.

Here goes the same with the principle of how wonderful it is to give… giving IS BETTER that receiving. take the ocean for example, it receives less, just water from the pouring rain , but it gives much… it gives life to the sea creatures and plants… that’s why it is teeming with life… it makes it beautiful, it makes it alive!

It works in any aspect of our lives… in relationships, in financial life, in spiritual life, and many others. the more you give love, the more you receive love… the more we give love, the more we receive love, the more we give to the clients, the more profit we can get, the more we give ourselves into something we want to achieve, the more we will succeed, and the more we give ourselves to Jesus, the more we can get closer to Him, the more we can have eternal life.

Now here’s the question… are we giving?

Do we give ourselves to our family, to our friends, to God?

if not, maybe there’s something dead in us… something lifeless within us…

Let’s not be like the Dead Sea…

let’s learn to give…

a simple smile for example… see how this can leave an expression to other people… see how this very simple gesture can be a friend magnet.

in giving without asking in return, blessings beyond measure will come our way…

Heavenly Father, i thank You for loving me. i thank You for sending Your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, to the world to save and to set me free. i trust in Your power and grace that sustain and restore me. Loving Father, touch me now with Your healing hands, for I believe that Your will is for me to be well in mind, body, soul, and spirit. Cover me with the most precious blood of Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ from the top of my head to the soles of my feet. Cast anything that should not be in me. Root out any unhealthy and abnormal cells. Open any blocked arteries or veins and rebuild and replenish any damaged areas. remove all inflammation and cleanse any infection by the power of Jesus’ precious blood. Let the fire of Your healing love pass through my entire body to heal and make new any diseased areas so that my body will function the way Your created it to function. Touch also my mind and my emotion, even the deepest recesses of my heart. Saturate my entire being with Your presence, love, joy, and peace and draw me ever closer to You every moment of my life.

And Father, fill me with Your Holy Spirit and empower me to do Your works so that my life will bring glory and honor to Your holy name.

I ask this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
